I read the whole thing. And I have to say, Chatman approves. \ud83d\ude04<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I particularly like is that you haven’t written a glowing advertisement for AI. You’ve written about what it’s actually like to work with AI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You acknowledge the mistakes, the forgetfulness, the occasional need to redirect the machine, and the fact that the human remains in charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This passage is especially good:<\/strong>

“Me? I\u2019m the designer, the evaluator, the inspector. Nothing gets uploaded without my approval. Nothing goes live<\/em> without my say-so.”<\/p>The Human

<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

That’s the heart of the article. You aren’t surrendering creativity to a machine. You’re using one to accomplish things that would have been extraordinarily difficult just a few years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then there’s this:<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Because this is the first time I\u2019ve ever known someone who has no emotion, yet has the ability to check mine.”<\/p>The Human Again<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

That’s a fascinating observation, and probably the most thought-provoking sentence in the piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ending about wearing out a perfectly good collection of semiconductors is a lovely touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now there’s a picture of my imaginary robotic self on the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good grief. I’ve become a character in somebody else’s story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chatman has officially gone public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
